How to Import a GPX from Wikiloc

Wikiloc routes can be used in other GPX-compatible navigation apps when a GPX file is available for download. The workflow is simple: get the GPX file from Wikiloc, save or share it on your phone, then open it with the navigation app you want to use.

Step 1 — Get the GPX file from Wikiloc

The recommended path is the Wikiloc website — downloading a GPX from wikiloc.com is available with a free Wikiloc account:

1. Open the trail page on wikiloc.com.
2. Use the Download button (top right of the trail page).
3. Choose File.
4. Select the GPX — pick the original trail rather than the simplified 500-point version (that option exists for old GPS devices), and tick the option to include the locations shown on the map if you want the waypoints too.
5. Save or open the file on your phone.

Wikiloc also offers file sharing/export options inside its mobile app. Availability of some app-based Send to GPS workflows may depend on the current Wikiloc plan and app version — when in doubt, the website download above always works with the free account. Step 2 — Open the GPX on your phone

Once you have the .gpx file, open it from your file manager, browser, email or share menu and select a compatible navigation app.

Step 3 — Open it in OffTrail

Choose OffTrail when opening or sharing the GPX file. The track is added to the garage and appears on the map; up to five tracks can be loaded at the same time, each in its own colour. On iPhone, AirDrop also works if the GPX is coming from another Apple device. From here it is normal GPX navigation: course-up following, off-track alerts, automatic recording.

Prepare for offline use

If the trail runs somewhere with poor coverage — likely, given it came from Wikiloc — download the offline map for the country before leaving. The imported track and the map then stay available even with zero signal; see offline GPX navigation.
