Off-Road Navigation for 4x4

OffTrail is built for routes that normal road-navigation apps are not designed around. 4x4 drivers can import GPX tracks, download offline maps, generate off-road routes and record trips directly from the phone. The same simple workflow used by adventure riders works for 4x4 exploration: prepare the route, load the map and go.

Follow the route you actually planned

In off-road driving the route is often more important than the destination — a GPX track defines the exact forest road, trail or expedition line you intend to follow, not whatever a road router prefers. OffTrail draws the track directly on an off-road-legible map and keeps up to five GPX tracks visible at once, useful for expeditions with alternates or convoy trips with staged legs.

Built for places where coverage is unreliable

Remote tracks, mountain areas and long overland trips regularly cross places with weak or no mobile signal. OffTrail has offline maps for more than 100 countries, downloaded per country as a single package, so the map and the route stay on the device. GPS keeps working regardless — it never needs the internet.

Build off-road 4x4 routes in the app

No track? OffTrail generates one. Choose a destination on the map or enter coordinates and OffTrail's routing service builds an off-road route suited to 4x4 use. Route generation needs a network connection because the calculation runs on OffTrail's servers; once the route is created and the maps are downloaded, following it works offline. Overlanding and expedition trips

For multi-day overland travel the same pieces compose: download the offline maps for every country on the itinerary before leaving, load the expedition GPX (or split it into daily tracks — up to five can be loaded at once), and let the automatic recording produce a GPX archive of the trip as you drive. An optional satellite layer is available when you have a network, useful for reading terrain around a planned track.

Navigation does not replace local access rules

OffTrail can show and route over mapped tracks, but a mapped road or trail is not automatically open to public motor traffic. Drivers remain responsible for checking local laws, private-property restrictions, temporary closures and trail-access rules.
