GPX Navigation on Apple CarPlay

OffTrail supports Apple CarPlay: the map, your position and navigation guidance appear on the vehicle display while you follow a GPX track or a route built in the app. The CarPlay experience is deliberately simple — the navigation you need is on the car's screen, while route management stays on the phone.

Keep the route visible without handling your phone

On long trips, adventure routes and mixed-terrain journeys, having the route on the larger dashboard display makes navigation easier to glance at. With OffTrail on CarPlay, your current position and the track stay visible on the vehicle screen while the iPhone keeps doing the navigation work in the background.

CarPlay navigation can continue when coverage disappears

CarPlay itself is only the display layer — the navigation data comes from OffTrail on the iPhone. If the GPX track and the offline map are already on the phone, OffTrail keeps navigating on the car's screen without continuous mobile coverage. Follow imported GPX tracks or routes created in OffTrail

Anything OffTrail can navigate shows up on CarPlay: an imported GPX file, an off-road route generated for adventure motorcycles or 4x4s, an on-road route with the Road Fun or Road Fast profile, or a circular Round Trip of up to 200 km. Prepare the route before you start; then the car's screen is just for riding it.

What's on the car screen

The CarPlay view shows the offline map with your loaded track, your live position with course-up following, and the navigation guidance for the route — the same information the phone shows, sized for a dashboard. Because OffTrail's maps are built for off-road legibility, the trail network stays readable on the car display too, not just the highways.

What you still do on the phone
