How to Create a Circular Motorcycle Route

A circular motorcycle route starts and finishes in the same place. It is useful when you want to ride for a certain distance or amount of time but do not have a destination in mind. You can build a loop manually using multiple waypoints, or use a route generator that creates a Round Trip automatically.

Building a loop manually

The manual method works in any route planner:

1. Choose your starting point.
2. Pick an approximate direction — where do you want the loop to lean?
3. Add several intermediate points along roads or trails you want to include.
4. Route the final leg back to the start.
5. Check road and trail access for each section.
6. Verify the total distance matches the time you have.

It gives full control, but it takes time — and in an unfamiliar area you are guessing which roads are worth riding.

Creating a Round Trip with OffTrail

Generation needs a connection — riding it doesn't

Round Trip generation requires a network connection, because the route is calculated on OffTrail's servers. Once the route has been created and the required maps are on the device, following it works offline like any GPX track.

Choose the type of ride
